Boys and Girls Club Center for Youth Excellence

The Corvallis Clinic Foundation contributed $25,000 toward the construction of the Youth Excellence Center at the Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis.

The second floor of the youth center will be devoted to teen wellness, with pediatricians and counselors on staff. The primary aim of the teen wellness center is to reduce teen suicide rates among Corvallis youth.

Younger Memorial Fund

The Corvallis Clinic Foundation would like to thank the donors of the Eldon Younger Memorial Fund and the Old Mill Center for Children and Families for their commitment to protecting at-risk children from abuse and neglect.

The Eldon Younger Memorial Fund was established in memory of the late pediatrician by his former colleague at The Corvallis Clinic, James Nusrala, M.D., and his surviving wife, Meda Younger. Dr. Younger was a devoted advocate of protecting vulnerable children from harm. Prior to his passing, the Younger Memorial fund was established with The Corvallis Clinic Foundation to continue his legacy.

Over the years, The Corvallis Clinic Foundation funded annual community lectureships on preventing child abuse through the direction of Mrs. Younger and Dr. Nusrala. In March 2021, Mrs. Younger, Dr. Nusrala, and the Foundation were pleased to transfer a $20,000 gift to the Old Mill Center to continue its work of providing direct services to at-risk children and families.

We at The Corvallis Clinic Foundation are grateful for the Old Mill Center’s work in the community. The years 2020-21 have been a difficult time for many – especially children navigating the pandemic in isolation and in environments that may be unsafe. On behalf of the donors to the Younger Memorial fund, we are happy that this gift will continue the great work of Dr. Younger toward protecting our community’s children.
